I'm very new to Matlab (just started my first class last w) and I

am trying to figure out how to display text that has subscripts in

it. I've looked around and I know how to make titles on graphs that

have subscripts, but I don't know how to just have it displayed as

What I'm trying to do exactly is have the screen print a system of

2x1 + 3x2 + 4x3 = 20

And what i'm having trouble with is getting those numbers after the x

(1,2,3 etc) into subscript text so that it appears that way on the

screen when displayed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

    • You need to be a bit more precise in what you're asking help for.

You say that what you want to do "exactly" is: ".. have the screen

But the screen cannot print anything either exactly or not.

You can print TO the screen or FROM the screen, but the screen itself

      cannot do this.

Let's assume you want to print TO the screen. But do you want to print

to a figure or the Command Window or what? If it's a figure, then go

'help text' and use the same method you used for title to get

subscripts, but if it's the Command Window you want to print subscripts

to, then I think you're out of luck.
